Malachy and Shane McAteer won the Rostrevor Open Men's Doubles Plate on Sunday 24 July 2016. Although the match started in patchy rain it was soon blazing sunshine reminiscent of the Mediterranean as the beautiful surrounds of Kilbroney Park played host to finals day in Rostrevor. Mal and Shane as the only Newry club representatives in any of the finals done us proud as they blitzed Derek Laverty and Ryan O'Hare 6-1 6-3.
