A day after her 74th birthday, the truly remarkable Bel O'Loughlin won the Mixed Doubles Plate final alongside the doyen of the net Sean Sloan. On one of the sunniest October days remembered in these parts for many years, the intrepid duo beat Dorothy Blair and Cormac Moody 6-1 6-4. It was a one sided first set with Sean dominating proceedings in the forecourt. However in a much closer second set it was our septuagenarian who kept her cool and won an amazing title.
